Maybe I just list the differences between the novel and the donghua and you can better judge it for yourself.

- TS never revealed himself, he was hiding in his vast sea cosmic shroud all the time. Only when BBD uses her domain, she found him but he was still cloaked. **Remember his shield can even hide him and Xiao Bai from the 100K devil orca king.

- BBD orders her men to attack and they are met by TS’s SeaGod Trident. TS was using his “controlling crane crouching dragon” to pull the trident back. But then he was running out of power and that was when SeaGod emerges.

- the Beasties never found the herb for XW because obviously they don’t know when TS will come back and that herb has to be alive before consuming so there’s no way
that the two beasties can keep it by their side for years. IMO the production team is just trying to make their death more impactful that they got themselves into this deadly fight because of the damn herb. But it just doesn’t make sense because BBD was not interested in whatever herb, she only wants their rings and soul bones. So don’t tell me that damn herb gives out an aura more powerful than the two beasties combined? 🙄

- next week, it looks like Ma’am XW is in distress again and she needs saving! This change here is absolutely absurd because BBD was blasted into shrapnels by TS/SeaGod, there’s just no way she could give chase and fight with XW. Even if she’s half-god like TS, she still needs time to recover. It’s even more ridiculous if she’s even faster than TS in finding them because XW is still technically a part of TS, they could sense each other all the time so how could BBD get ahead of TS?

I’m speculating that XW had to fight BBD’s demon spiders and got hurt but what the.. 🤦‍♂️ How could she still release those spiders when she’s trying to remerge herself? I believe when TS sees XW’s injured, he would go full Asura and the beasties too would sacrifice themselves to save XW. They are weakening TS or maybe in their eyes they’re “humanising” him because he’s way too OP. But this is too extreme! He spent five f**king years in the island for nothing! Even those titled Douluos could pummel him to a pulp! 🤦‍♂️ It’s as if those four frigging red rings are some kind of Cheezels?

I hope they better not snip the partwhere TS cuts off his arm just to show the beasties his commitment in resurrecting XW. He needs to return her soul bone to her as part of the resurrection and when the beasties in their dying breath demand him to make an oath as a condition of their sacrifices, TS immediately shows them through his action. That’s actually quite a touching scene in the novel because the three men are now dying because of their love for XW (yes, TS has not reached titled Douluo, so he would die when he removes any of the soul bones from his body). Anyway, that’s enough of ranting from me! We shall all wait for the change of the opening screen next week. I’d riot if they still drag that to another week! 🤬

lol totally, I skip watch this now, meaning I just skim it like flipping pages when reading a novel, the changes are kind of annoying for me, people who never read the novel wont understand but honestly if they read the novel and compare, this final arc really lacks the punch the novel has.

On another note for people not aware, Shanghai has ended lockdown, although there are some pockets that went straight back to lockdown, overall things are slowly going back to normal, but it doesnt mean that Soul Land will go straight back to normal episode duration yet, the studio (is based in Hangzhou, a neighboring city of Shanghai) is also focusing on Tunshi Xingkong, they just posted another trailer on their Weibo account, while I cant guarantee anything but hopefully season 2 episode 13 will be released this coming week (after the weekend)

Ikr, I was really quite impressed with that chapter actually. The author manages to balance the suspense and the power of both sides very nicely. Except for the appearance of SeaGod, there was no deus ex machina moment but even that it’s understandable that the SeaGod suddenly appears. I still remember when TS was pulling back his trident, BBD suddenly chases after it (that was quite hilarious actually) and TS again uses his controlling crane and crouching dragon to hit back at BBD. But all those manoeuvres deplete his power completely. He actually plans to use his spiritual power to give BBD a spiritual shock as his last move but his saviour appears at the very last moment. All in all, the fight scenes are very smooth and realistic. BBD shows reservation and didn’t go full power because she’s not sure what kind of opponent TS is. But now, the donghua just ruins all the nicely carved out suspense by the author.

Totally, apart from the arc being short and some elements being inconsistent Bibi Dong's confession, it was an interesting arc, if the author spent more chapters fleshing it out it would have been great and allowing for a more thorough closure on the characters rather than "oh it is going to be explained in the next novel" expectation

Oh well we blamed TJSS for the bad ending and how he wrote Xiao Wu now it seem the studio is cursed with the same bug, we can blame it for the letdown arc lol As much as eyecandy the fights are, the the story just fizzled for me, I will skip to the parts where they match the novel and pretend everything was shortened to those parts LOL

One of my trigger points, is inconsistency within a novel, the use of deux machina when it is not needed, and this episode just hammered in the final nail in the coffin for me, maybe it is time to go back to live action drama LOL

The live action drama is worse though totally it's own story this is the best thing after the novel I hope they can get it 50% close to the novel towards the end they are some memorable stuff still to come.

I am referring to watching live action in general, not Soul Land live action, that one is pretty bad. There's not that many good donghua lately that is keeping me interested sadly, which is why I wrote it might be time to go back to live action drama :)

They are trying too hard to make Bibi Dong strong. By this point, TS uses both Strength and Wisdom to overpower Bibi Dong. We truly get to see why he will become a legend. Yet, Bibi Dong also had a trump card. There is a lack of excitement from the anime compared to the novel. I really don't get why they change it so much. Bibi Dong had a crushing defeat here while TS still got to keep his trump card as seagod successor a secret.

I guess the war too will be impacted by the change they made and become real boring. Time to go back to the novels instead.

I think you confused Youtube Addict 's posts with mine, I was the one who posted comments about how netizens in China view Xiao Wu as nothing more than a baggage to be carried about, however they do not represent the entire netizens in China and not once did anyone or myself made any comments that she is a headache

Youtuibe Addict, and some others including myself also wrote that it is the author's fault for making her like that, perhaps go back to the last two episodes and read our posts to better understand the context we are trying to convery. Picking parts of our posts takes the whole conversation out of context and will lead to misunderstanding

I can understand why people would feel that way about Xiao Wu especially those who have read the novel. I couldn't help but notice that too especially when she started out as a strong female lead and at one point was even tomboyish as you went through the episodes of season one but she became overshadowed by Tang San's protectiveness. It went downhill from there in season 2.

Yeah the change in her sadly also caused her character development to be stalled if not slow than the rest of the Shreks. She had one of the most interesting storylines, a spirit beast (although there were some flaws about how not a single titled douluo knew she was one (cough cough Poison Douluo) before given the flower to mask her identity, also she was an orphan, a childhood sweetheart, able to beat the crap out of Tang San, all the elements to make a good story yet Oscar and Rongrong, Fatty and Xiangxiang and Mubai and Zhuqing had more a interesting romantic story and have more character development

to be honest I dont see how poison douluo was actually the first to notice her being a beast as Tang Hao should have been the first due to secretly watching his son. I wouldnt mind if we got to see more on Mubai and Zhuqing especially if there was a scene of her stamping on his nuts for sniffing around other girls to get him in line.

after watching the first episode of season 2 (27) again, it kind of looked like they hinted he knew when he spoke to Ah Yin's blue spirit grass body about her being a spirit beast and that he hoped that tragedy only happened once.

Yeah I checked when she is below level 60 she can be detected by Spirit Douluos (level 80-90) upon close examination and a Titled Douluo (91-94) can detect her easily

So you are right Tang Hao definitely would have been the first to detect her lol while Flanders Zhao Wuji and Er Long would have a bit more difficulty while Poison Douluo should be able to detect her like Tang Hao when he tried to stop them from entering the Tiandou academy

I was just thinking after reading that comment that it might be something like a special skill too similar to Tan San's vision or hearing skills that they obtain at those levels or its a secret skill so not all of them may have it. It is kind of obvious though even without seeing her aura that she's different because of the rabbit ears as no other characters had anything like that until the auction house when Tang San sold one of his weapons and we saw cat ears.

Mhm, the author never explained why a titled douluo would easily discover a human formed beast spirit, possible because of the skill when one reaches the douluo level.

Dont forget the tail :) one thing about the auction is that the cat girl being auctioned off, was said to become self aware or something like that and as a result she was highly prized as a plaything and yet Zhuqing is also the same but her sister doesnt have a tail.... it is one of those things in the novel that always bugged me lol

I wasnt really bugged by it myself but I am curious what happened to the auctioned girl because of the raids that happened after. In regard to Zhuqing I was more distracted by her high pitch voice lol

I dunno, I think they would save you money going to buy a new outfit at least. If you have a good figure that you're happy with, the nurse uniform is good for highlighting that. The doctor outfit however, would require a little more confidence as role playing a little in jest would help you get closer to anyone you have your eye on.

The nurse's costume I saw someone wearing in the costume party was a bit revealing, thigh high white stockings, the skirt covers the bum and when HE bent over... I need to wash my eyes with soap.

Doctor costume is pretty much the same, a lacy lingerie with a short white lab coat. some of these male doctors and orderlies are very adventurous, that was my first and last time I went to such a costume party, actually it was a Christmas costume party lol

I dont get the cliche about nurses hooking up with doctors, it's not often that you see that happening, well at least where I am at lol I see engineers hooking up with nurses more than doctors

I just know that a lot of men fantasize about nurses which is why there is more focus on nurses. Some people are usually superficial in general anyway, they offer you their hand in friendship while they hide a dagger behind their back waiting to screw you over later. I went to a high class office dinner once that had a live show too which surprised me at the time because they were dancing to a mixed version of Akira's battle against the clown and Kaneda music. That was before real anime became more popular in my country, when I say real anime I don't mean stuff like kid's anime like pokemon. Anyway before going to that party, the days leading up to it they were making fun of their boss in a crude way about how her partner would have to go extra easy on her when they were having fun time before her glass eye popped out and rolled across the floor. There was another woman who was receiving the same treatment too but for something really personal that even I shouldn't have been made aware of, so in the end I was glad to be out of there after I finished what I needed to do there. Things like that shouldn't be happening anymore because of the laws now but it wouldn't surprise me if it doesn't still happen.

Well, author tried to salvage her in soul land 5. She is more powerful but can be useful too. I feel that by the way it's going in SL5, it would be nice if XW didn't become co-owner of Asura but had her own god position.

In SL1 author has too little chapters in his novel and didn't do great in some aspects. Plus, he really is not good with female characters. It's often the case with many chinese authors. They are unable to balance out the female and male lead powers and strengths.

The novel doesn’t elaborate much on her rings configuration. But I’m guessing it could be a reward from her Rakshasa God trials just like the red ring from Bo Saixi and Ning Rong Rong. If I tell you more, it would be spoilers. 😉

In no way were they insinuating that the herb/flower's aura was more powerful than the 2 beasts combined. It literally said from Da Ming & Er Ming searching for the Nobel Spirit Grass that their existence were exposed, they gave their positions away putting themselves in danger.

Bro, I got that. If you read my reply to @curazon, the two beasties’ existence is already difficult to mask especially for someone like BBD. Whether they were busy searching for a herb or just laying low in their old nest, they can never hide from BBD. She’s level 99 with some power of the Rakshasa God. Just like BBD, she herself cannot hide from TS because TS already achieved the highest level of Purple God Eyes and it’s merged with his Vast Sea Cosmic Shroud which is the power of the Sea God.

It’s even more demeaning to the two beasties if they cannot even detect the arrival of a group of humans — except for BBD all the others are level 95 and below. In short, both sides would have easily detected each other’s presence wherever they are. So this herb thingy is really a load of bollocks.

And I get your issues with the differences between the novel and donghua, but it seemed like you were quite upset about these "changes" and I don't see why when you even said they're possibly trying to make their "deaths" more impactful (though I'm now upset reading "their death" in your sentence as I wasn't expecting that kind of spoiler, it put me in a depressed mode smh). I actually think it makes more sense why BBD never targeted them until now. Either way, it still wouldn't make difference if it was the herb that exposed their existence or BBD 3rd eye would it?? All the routes I thought of kept bringing me back to the question, "why did it take so long for her to capture them then if she could've this whole time while TS and the others were on the island for 5 years??" Makes no sense, why wait until now when she had the same power she has now 5 years ago and the same douluo minions??

It's one of those plot devices the author decided to make during the final arc and it becomes kind of a "huh?" moment although this device is somewhat more plausible than some of the "brilliant" devices the author makes since

1. Bibi Dong is following the path of the Rakshasa God, just as Tang San went through the path of the Sea God, so she is reaching godhood and needs the rings for her dual spirits (Tang San is also a dual spirit, Blue Silver grass and Clear Sky Hammer)
2. Her plans to conquer the world is coming into fruition with many sects and clans submitting to the Martial Spirit Hall, not to mention she is becoming more confident and arrogant in believing she is undefeatable
3. She has become very strong, even the level 99 Qian Daolio said to Qian Renxue that she has become as strong as him and there is nothing he can do to her because her authority has exceeded him
4. The dual fusion of Chrysanthemum and Ghost Douluo plays an important role in paralysing the two Beast spirits, without them one can they the chances of success is very very low

Asura God and Rakshasa God are the two slaughter Gods, they are also bitter enemies of each other. One is pure evil, drawing from negative thoughts and emotions the other isnt. This is where a flaw with the plot comes in, since both are enemies of each other, Rakshasa has corrupted Asura's trial, ensuring that no one will ever become Asura God and will be poisoned just like Tang Chen, yet Bibi Dong allows Hu Liena to walk the path of the Asura God in Slaughter city. Either Bibi Dong was not aware of this or it was something TJSS forgot about and added it to the story or he didnt explain it well enough.

I thought the Ghost Douluo and the others had something important to do with the success of Bibi obtaining their spirit rings and bones, that was more obvious to me since the group is full of powerhouses. Still I was disappointed in such beasts being suppressed like that at first but I guess it makes more sense if they had paralyzing abilities and other abilities to suppress the titan brothers.

At first I thought Tang Chen was corrupted because of TS's doing, but then after the previous episodes of TC explaining his past I knew TS poisoning him was something separate and has nothing to do with the corruption. But I didn't know about the other info you stated, so the Asura god's trial is corrupted, FOREVER?! Will they be telling us how Bibi accomplished that or did they explain it already?? I also thought Bibi being the Rakshasa heir and her successor Liena being the Asura heir would make them way more powerful, but I guess if they're enemies then that's a flaw. Thanks again!!

Fusion techniques are very powerful take Mubai and Zhuqing's fusion, they can beat people stronger than them. so you can imagine the power of two titled Douluo using the fusion technique

Apparently it is fixed when the Asura Sword chooses Xiao Wu as the scabbard and Tang San became the Asura God in order to defeat the new Rakshasa God, Bibi Dong. Sea God is weak out of the water :P I am not sure about the actual details how it is fixed and I dont think Tang San throwing in the flower in the Slaughter City arc did fix the trial, it only stopped it, the author glossed over it, it may be the trials werent fixed but Youtube Addict might be able to answer it better than me
